The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for assessing, planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. Providing care consistent with the goals and philosophy of SCH and with standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Oklahoma.

The Med/Surg RN will deliver quality care by offering excellent customer service. All employees participate within a team centered approach towards patient care. The RN must possess exceptional communication skills, critical thinking skills, and independent decision making skills. General responsibilities include: patient assessments, holistic care involving patient families, the ability to delegate tasks, display proficiency in order entry, and Meditech. The RN must also assist the departm! ent manager in staffing the department in a safe and cost effe! ctive manner. Occasional assignments outside the department may be required. Med/Surg RN’s may participate in the care of patients from adolescents to geriatrics.

Must observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of SCH. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and SCH. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action.

Must participate in safety instructional programs. Must participate in education and in-services.

Weekend Option Position.

Requirements:
Education: Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Regi! stered Nurse.

Experience: Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as an R.N., preferably in the area of application. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS. Must maintain any other certificates as required per department
