Under limited direction from the Chief Nursing Officer, the CNS is a hospital based, service spec! ific position.

Essential Function/Duties:
Performs as the clinical expert in evidence-based practice within specific patient population. Supports and/or conducts nursing research to further the body of evidence-based nursing practice. Responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating patient specific and population-based programs of care for assigned patient population. Provides leadership in advancing the practice of nursing. Develops and implements innovative alternative solutions that address system problems or patient care issues in collaboration with the services interdisciplinary team. Serves as a change agent through individual and team coaching and participation in committees, task forces and projects system-wide.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:
Master's degree in nursing; and

  • Experience:
Two (2) years experience as a registered nurse, preferably ! in the area of specialization or education.

  • ! Licensure:
Possession of a valid Oklahoma nursing license issued by the Oklahoma

State Board of Nursing. Some positions may require specific licensure or

certification as an Advance Practice Nurse issued by the

Oklahoma Board of Nurse Registration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of advanced clinical theory and nursing practice standards. Knowledge of research procedures. Knowledge of process improvement techniques and tools. Knowledge of teaching methods and learner objectives. Good communication skills. Computer literate.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):
Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting/moving of patients. Requires sufficient manual dexterity to operate therapeutic equipment. Must be able to stand for long periods at a time. Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time in a highly stressful atmosphe! re is required.
