Job Summary: The Nursing Development Specialist is a registered nurse with expertise in education who influences professional role competence and growth in! a variety of settings. Facilitates the adult learning process and fosters an appropriate climate for learning. Assesses the impact of education on organizational effectiveness, patient outcomes, and job performance.

Education: Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree from a state approved Registered Nurse Program and Master's degree in health, education, management or related field.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License required. Certification in specialty practice/education preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in healthcare. Minimum of 2 â€" 3 years of experience in education/professional development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Previous teaching experience with adult populations. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrates proficiency in use of technology. Strongly self-directed with demonstrated communi! cations skills. Accepts personal responsibility for own profes! sional development. 1. Collaborates with management, administration, and staff to assess, integrate, and evaluate educational needs and resources which support SFH mission and goals. 2. Develop, implement, and lead evidence-based, quality education programs and activities which promote individual development, competency among nursing personnel, and delivery of high quality patient care. 3. Teaches classes utilizing principles of adult learning and critical thinking. Assists others with class preparation and implementation. 4. Evaluate educational programs in terms of their impact on the learner, patient, and organization. 5. Serves as a professional role model and mentor to staff by promoting an environment of scholarly inquiry and learning that supports the autonomy and accountability of the nursing role at SFH. 6. Integrates evidence from internal and external sources that will assist management and staff to respond more effectively to evidence- based practice changes. 7.! Coordinates and assists with clinical rotations for nursing and EMS students. Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only Coordinates activities of others (dÅ's not supervise) Leads others in same work performed (dÅ's not supervise) Works directly with patients and/or customers Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction Works with other healthcare professionals and staff
