Oncology Nurse - (Onc RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 N
Come join this Oncology unit. It is a 34 beds, acute car! e with a daily census of 28-30 beds and adults. The majority of patients are oncology with a little med/surg overflow. Bone Marrow Transplant beds are included in the 34 beds. They are looking for a qualified nurse to also float to BMT bed and OP BMT clinic. This facility has 600-700 patients daily.
The role of the oncology nurse (Onc RN) is to provide care for cancer patients throughout all stages of their conditions, but usually focusing on the acute phase. The Onc RN will help patients ranging from post-surgical to near-terminal manage their disease and treatment effectively, and may also be responsible for administering chemotherapy (which requires additional certification). Oncology nurses may practice in hospitals and outpatient facilities or provide home-based care.
