Job Summary: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Pre-Operative Clinic, the Pre- Operative Nurse: Perf! orms clinical assessment and enters orders into Ulticare prior to admit or surgery; Provides appropriate pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and their families; Receives surgery reservations and physician orders and enters/updates orders and visits into appropriate computer system; Establishes the medical chart.

Education: Associate's Degree from an accrediated nursing program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid State of Oklahoma RN License

Work Experience: 6 months - 1year

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with a very broad demographic of individuals. Demonstrated patient assessment skills. Ability to multitask, under time constraints, quickly changing conditions, while reaching established production goals. Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to learn computer applications and enter data in a timely and accu! rate manner. Demonstrated ability to operate department machin! es (EKG, blood pressure, etc). Ability to cross train, educate and maintain clinical skills to assist in staffing all areas when necessary.
