Job Function
1. Direct Care. Oversees the ! clinical care of research patients on clinical trials. Develops nursing interventions to optimize patient health wile on study.
2. Consultation. Consults with blood cancer research team in the clinical care of the blood cancer patient on clinical trial. Provides clinical nursing expertise in assessing protocol feasibility in the outpatient and hospital setting. Consults with investigators in developing action plans in the event of protocol non-compliance.
3. Leadership/Collaboration. Serves as a change agent in implementing clinical research for specific disease sites. Liaison between research and clinic/hospital staff to implement research in the hospital and clinic settings
4. Clinical nursing oversight. Collaborates with clinic and research staff to implement clinical research procedures in compliance with GCP/ICH guidelines.
5. Research. Provides supervision to research staff in interpretation, evidence-based practice, and quality imp! rovement in research. Implements screening procedures and stre! amlining and facilitating enrollment on blood cancer clinical trials.
6. Administrative. Collaborates with SCC physicians, CTO leadership and OUMC administrative and nursing staff to develop and implement blood cancer clinical trial SOPs
7. Education. Conducts in-services to educated OUMC and SCC research staff on blood cancer clinical issues and treatments.
Department Preferences
Five years nursing experience in hematology oncology including BMT.
BSN preferred.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Completion of an accredited Nurse Training Program. Forty-eight months experience in a research cap! acity. Will accept a Master's Degree in Nursing and 24 months research capacity experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree.
Required Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses:
These requirements may be imposed by federal, state or recognized accrediting agency as a prerequisite of employment
State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse Certification, BLS, and CPR certification.
