PRN Nurse Practitioner

Location: Hugo Oklahoma

Description: Aspire Home Care is employing PRN Nurse Practitioner right now, this position will be placed in Oklahoma. Detailed specification about this position opportunity please read the description below. A licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up (depending on the state licensure) under the supervision of 1 or more physicians in the practice. Th! e Nurse Practitioner provides age and specialty appropriate medical care at the level of training achieved. The Nurse Practitioner should at a minimum assess: Disease specific changes, decline or change in function, nutrition and/or cognition, inadequately controlled pain or other distressing symptoms, falls, infections or similar events, the impact of the disease burden on the patient's condition on the patient, caregiver and/ or family's quality of life.

Qualifications / Licensure / Certification / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

1. Nurse Practitioner specialty in Family, Adult, Geriatric or Acute Care preferred.

2. A minimum of two years Nurse Practitioner experience is preferred.

3. Current Hospice or home health experience with pain and symptom management interventions preferred.

4. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary setting.

5. Understanding of Hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying.

6. Com! pliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
7. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with state and/or company's requirements.

8. Current CPR from AHA or ARC.

9. Demonstrate excellent observation, assessment, nursing judgment and communication skills. Ability to provide accurate written documentation in a timely manner.

10. Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.

11. Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.

Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Works indoors in Agency office and patient homes and travels to/from patient homes. Requires considerable physical effort most of the day including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking, exposure to temperature and humidity changes and maximal assist i! n lifting and/or transferring of a 100 pound patient. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet the essential duties of the position. Must provide evidence of annual TB test and other state-required tests or examinations. Be able to tolerate exposure to elements including, but not limited to, odors, blood, body fluids and excrements, adverse environmental conditions and hazardous materials.
