Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)

Faculty are accountable for the following;

Instructional responsibilities

Programs

Accept accountability for supporting student learning through quality instruction (theory as well as clinical instruction) in sections of credit and/or non-credit courses which the faculty member, Program Di! rector and the Division Dean agree upon.

Assist the P! rogram Director and Division Dean in developing, implementing and evaluating approved academic programs to meet community needs.

Assist the Program Director, Division Dean and the Vice President for Academic Affairs in determining new academic programs to meet community needs.

Support the development of a collegial teaching environment.

Represent the profession, the program and the Division in a positive and appropriate manner.

Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department.

Schedule

Assist the Program Director and Division Dean in developing and maintaining a flexible schedule to meet perceived program needs. A flexible schedule is mandatory for this position as hours may vary from semester to semester but will generally consist of a combination of morning, afternoon and evening classes.

Special Assignments

Prepare and satisfy objective for special assignme! nts. Special assignments may be made by agreement between the faculty member, the Program Director, The Division Dean and the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Administrative Budget

Provide input to the Program Director and Division Dean in developing budgetary recommendations to support academic program needs for the coming fiscal year.

Provide input to the Program Director and Division Dean on expenditures, within the approved budget allocations to support academic needs for the current fiscal year.

Faculty Professional Responsibilities

Actively participate in mutually agreed upon committees, attend department ceremonies, college commencement, and participate in on-campus staff development opportunities.

Maintain current unencumbered Oklahoma Licensure, CPR training, TB testing and maintain clinical expertise.

Since individual student needs have the primary time requirement from faculty, maintain posted off! ice hours with a minimum of ten (10) hours per week.

Serve as ! an academic advisor.

Serve as an appropriate mentor and role model for student.s

Demonstrate team building skills by functioning in a positive and collegial manner.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Abide by the policies and procedures as published in the Oklahoma City Community College Board Policies and College Procedures Manual.

Minimum Education/Experience

Master of Science in Nursing; or Bachelor of Science in Nursing and enrolled in a Master of Science Degree in Nursing program.

Current practice with a minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent prac! tice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting preceding the first date of first employment as a teacher.

Hold a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Positive human relations and communications skills.

Support and willingness to teach in a competency-based instructional system.

Available to teach day and evening classes.

Ability to work well as a team member in an instructional unit.

Annual TB testing or monitoring as needed.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

No lifting restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

Required Training

Maintain CPR training from the American Heart Association every two years.

Work Hours

This is a full-time position. Teaching schedules can include online, days, nights and/or weekends. Required institutional activities (other than attendance at comme! ncement) usually occur in the classic eight-to-five Monday through Frid! ay work week.
