Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) - All Shifts

Companions Specialized Care Center ! is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A). The C.N.A. provides personal care to residents. Maintains resident areas and work areas in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Assists residents in preventative, therapeutic and restorative nursing procedures. Adheres to safety and infection control policies and procedures.

DUTIES

  • Provides personal care to residents. Duties include but are not limited to personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, ambulating and transferring, etc.
  • Maintains resident areas and work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Assists residents with preventative, therapeutic and restorative procedures. Duties include but are not limited to performing range of motion and/or application of assistive devices or appliances.
  • Assists with maintenance of res! ident bowel and bladder programs.
  • Adheres to safety a! nd infection control policies and procedures according to Standard Precautions.
  • Completes required documentation; e.g. intakes and outputs, flow sheets.
  • Reports changes in resident conditions, accidents or incidents.
  • Supports and assists Activities Services; e.g. transporting residents to and from activities, informing activities services staff of known resident interests, seeing that residents have activities to occupy them.
  • Report defective equipment or other potential safety hazards.
  • Works with residents, families, members of the health care team and other employees in a pleasant, respectful, cooperative manner.
  • Attend inservice programs as required by facility and state/Federal guidelines.
  • Respect and maintain resident's dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality and knowledge of Residents' Bill of Rights.
  • Promote positive public relations for the facility.
  • Perform other duties as ! assigned: e.g. soiled linen disposal.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a High school diploma/GED.
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training program and testing, as required by the state.
  • Must be in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral & written instructions.
