Nursing Assistant - PCU

Location: Muskogee Oklahoma

Description: EASTAR Health System is currently interviewing Nursing Assistant - PCU right now, this job will be placed in Oklahoma. Detailed specification about this job opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. Under supervision, provides basic nursing care to patients. Makes beds and collects soiled linens. Cares for deceased patients, transports body to morgue and places personal belonging! s in designated safekeeping. Attends nursing station and performs clerical and reception duties. Requisitions supplies, equipment and services as directed. Observes patient cardiac monitors for changes in the rhythm of the heartbeat. Detects and documents arrhythmias and notifies the nursing staff as needed. Following training and competency assessment, performs point of care testing as required.

Licensure, Registration, Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or CPR for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross.

Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:
Previous clerical and patient care experience within a healthcare facility preferred.

Qualifications and Skills:
Must possess good public relations and communication skills. Prefer basic patient care skills (i.e. vital signs, baths, intake/output). ! Sufficient keyboarding skills/experience. Must be able to demo! nstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of assigned patients. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and be able to interpret appropriate information needed to identify patient requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
