Job Function

Our busy Internal Medicine Clinic has an opening for a Clinic Nursing Supervisor. You will assume responsibility for supervising the daily activities of a staff of professional and para-professional medical employees to assure smooth functioning of a major clinic in conformance with established standards and policies. Also, you will assist with educational goals of providing quality patient care by students and residents.

Department Preferences

The applicant we're looking for will have supervisory experience as an RN in a large outpatient clinic setting.

Physical Requirements:
Standard outpatient adult medical clinic environment and exposure. Up to 25% of the essential functions of this position will involve mobility (being able to move from one floor of campus building to another; being able to move from one building to another for meetings, etc.).

Must be able to rarely lift 50 lbs or more in the function of patient assistance or position, when working in the clinic in a nursing capacity.

Ability to pull including using the upper body to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects; to push including using the upper body to press against an object with force; reach including extending the arm or hand; stand including standing for short or extended time periods; engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers; grasp including applying pressure to objects with fingers or hands; walk including moving by foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for extended periods of time or over a long distance; feel including perceiving size, shape, temperature and texture; touch including finger dexterity; speak including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others; hear including perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound; see including unique visual requirements above and beyond the standard ability to see with or without corrective eyewear such as color vision, depth perception, etc.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Nursing and 12 months specialty experience in the area comparable to that in which the vacancy exists.

Required Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses:
These requirements may be imposed by federal, state or recognized accrediting agency as a prerequisite of employment

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

Excellent nursing and supervisory skills applicable to this position. Must be proficient on all Microsoft Office applications. Must have the ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer. Excellent customer service skills and must be able to be sensitive and respectful of our patient's needs. Must be able to work successfully with a diverse group of faculty, other staff, and members of the public. Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team. Must be able to report to the work location regularly and in a timely manner. Professional manner and appearance.

This position requires the ability to multi-task and interact with patients, family members, other staff and faculty in a calm and professional manner at all times.
