In fact, we have immediate openings for Licensed Practical Nurses, LPNs, at multple locations, fulfilling the needs of a Federal Corrections contract.
A correctional LPN provides quality nursing healthcare to correctional adult and juvenile inmates’ with-in jails, detention centers, prisons and correctional hospitals. Abide by policies that are established by our clients and assist in following quality standards. Assist with accreditation compliance: National Correctional Compliance Health Care (NCCHC), American Correctional Association (ACA) and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). Respect and follow all security requirements and guidelines established by the Department of Corrections (DOC) or Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

A professional Licensed Practical Nurse assists a Registered Nurse in the delivery of nursing care. An LPN is prepared to function as a member of the healthcare team by exercising sound nursing judgement based on preparation,knowledge, skills, understandings and past experiences in nursing situations. An LPN participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in the settings where nursing takes place.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Gives direct patient care.
2. Performs treatments and procedures according to nursing department guidelines.
3. Observes patients and documents information according to prescribed policy and procedures.
4. Keeps Registered Nurse informed regarding changing conditions and other pertinent information.
5. Assists in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
6. Keeps patient information confidential, and respects patient's right to privacy.
7. Assists in and performs unit assignments as required.
8. Has knowledge of policies, procedures, and standards of the Nursing profession.
9. Practices within the limits of the state's Nurse Practice Act and healthcare facility and nursing administrative policies.
10. Maintains and updates skills needed for excellence in patient care.
Minimum Job Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse Current CPR. One year experience (must be within the last two years).
