Serves as an infection control officer by selecting projects, collecting, and analyzing data, developing a plan of action, implement changes and follow-up as part of the facilities QA program. Develop and implement methods for coordinating nursing services with resident services by directing the 24 hour day to day function of nursing activities. Ensure all nursing personnel are performing their respective duties in accordance with written policies, procedures and manuals. Participate in pre admission screening of residents. Schedule daily rounds and monitor residents’ treatment to ensure residents are receiving proper care. Review nursing notes to ensure proper documentation is maintained relating to residents’ condition and treatment. Ensures that narcotic records are accurate and notify the DON of all drug and narcotic discrepancies. Recruits, interviews, hires, counsels, evaluates, disciplines and terminates nursing services personnel. As ADON delegate duties to Nurse Managers, Unit Supervisors, Charge Nurses, CMA’s, RNA’s and CNA’s.
