Midwest City Nursing Cener is looking for an experienced Wound Care Nurse to join our dynamic, customer service focused team to provide nursing care to patients requiring acute or rehabilitative care that is consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, Encore Standards and Protocols, Policies/Procedures and nursing judgment. The Wound Care Nurse takes ownership and responsibility for the prevention, treatment and documentation of complex wound and/or pressure ulcers.
Job Duties:
- Make rounds on off shifts periodically to ensure preventive measure are in place
- Completes Braden Scale as required by Federal regulation
- Performs treatments on wounds
- Staff Education
- Ensure that weekly skin assessment by licensed staff are performed
- Monitor TARs for treatments of wound conditions
- Care Planning
- Evaluation of progress in all areas
- Perform restorative assessments upon all new admissions and, as requested, for existing residents
- Perform, or supervise the performance of restorative nursing
- Assure that the resident’s individual care plan is developed and followed for restorative services
- Interact with residents, families, visitors, facility and corporate staff.
