Location: Owasso Oklahoma

Description: Midwest Health Management is in need of Licensed Practical Nurse right now, this career will be placed in Oklahoma. Job Description: Employee is required to administer and record care services based upon the plan of care authorized by the attending physician.

Accountability: The licensed practical nurse reports to the Executive Director. Equipment used: Various medical equipment and various office equipment.

Environment: Primarily indoors

Duties and Responsibilities: The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.

Provision of care of patients in accordance with their care plans. May require conferences with physician, patient, family members and other staff involved with patient’s care.

Communicate with patient and family regarding education and progress of patient. Review and maintain all clinical records, which are required for patient’s care and progress. Review weekly reports to monitor personal and staff compliance to all State and Federal requirements including blood borne pathogens, hazardous materials, infection control, and fire safety. Required to accept weekend duties on a rotation basis as well as twenty-four hour call time responsibility. Physical Activity Requirements: Employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although they may not be a requirement of the job.

Employee must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments.

Summary of Occupational Exposures:Bloodborne Pathogens:
Tasks and procedures performed by employee involve risks classified by CDC as:

Category I (Direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids to which universal precautions apply.)

Specific Task Exposure:
General Resident Care: Blood, urine, feces, vomitus, wound exudates, semen/vaginal secretions, other body fluids â€" cerebrospinal, synovial, pleural, peritoneal, pericardial, amniotic;

Handling Soiled Linens and Clothing: Blood, urine, feces, vomitus, wound exudates, semen/vaginal secretions, other body fluids â€" cerebrospinal, synovial, pleural, peritoneal, pericardial, amniotic.

Cleaning Resident Rooms and Common Areas â€" Blood, urine, feces, vomitus, wound exudates, semen/vaginal secretions. Refer to Exposure Control Plan for additional information.

Other Considerations and Requirements: The employee may be expected to perform other duties as assigned. Such duties will be within the training and ability of the employee.
