The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse holds a shift accountability to provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.
TASKS:
- Administer medications to include educating patients and families indication use and side effects.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
- Assist with coordinating discharge plan and care
- Directs and supervises LPNs, MHTs, Nurse Tech, Ward Clerks, and assist with completing 90 day and annual performance evaluations.
- Manages budgeted manhours daily
- Manages budgeted supplies
- Maintain the safety of the Milieu.
- Ensure patient safety and staff supervision and intervention.
- Promote customer service (Patients, Families, Visitors, Employees)
Education, training, experience:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION :
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse License for the State of Oklahoma
- Current BCLS certification
- CAPE within 30 days
- Valid Drivers License issued by the State of Oklahoma (if applicable)
- Graduate from an accredited professional nurse program
