The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse holds a shift accountability to provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.

TASKS:

• Administer medications to include educating patients and families indication use and side effects.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Assist with coordinating discharge plan and care
• Directs and supervises LPNs, MHTs, Nurse Tech, Ward Clerks, and assist with completing 90 day and annual performance evaluations.
• Manages budgeted manhours daily
• Manages budgeted supplies
• Maintain the safety of the Milieu.
• Ensure patient safety and staff supervision and intervention.
• Promote customer service (Patients, Families, Visitors, Employees)

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION :

• Must possess a current Registered Nurse License for the State of Oklahoma
• Current BCLS certification
• CAPE within 30 days
• Valid Drivers License issued by the State of Oklahoma (if applicable)

EDUCATION:

• Graduate from an accredited professional nurse program
